What if everyone got up and left the ship in the middle of a cruise? In a sense, that’s what happens every night when passengers go to sleep. Early this morning, I woke up in the middle of the night to capture some scenes from Oasis of the Seas on its transatlantic journey. Medical Evacuation on Rough Seas from Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas
On April 23, 2024, the Captain of Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas made an emergency diversion towards Bermuda on a transatlantic sailing from Miami to Barcelona in order to evacuate an injured passenger. Arriving near Bermuda just past midnight, a multi-hour attempt began to transfer the passenger off the ship in rough and dangerous seas. This video captures scenes from this operation.
